Because of this I am assuming you do have a 390. Yes I do suggest a Holley 4160. Which one depends on quite a few things. Including your local altitude, rear gear, driving style, tow much, top RPM you plan on ceiling at,etc.. If your altitude is 5000 and less, stock motor, and if you do a lot of towing or hauling I would suggest Holley List #80457.600 CFM but it will come with #69 front jets (a little on the rich side) and Holley's strongest secondary spring. Which means your stock motor won't see the whole 600CFM too fast and bog. Or the same thing only with no towing you could go with List #80457 or 80457-1 but change out the jets to around the #66 range. In the future you can alter this carb to match any upgrades you do to the motor.

Yep, its a 390. I live in south Dakota so altitude should never be an issue. Thanks for the tip on the jets. I would have just bolted it up and then been frustrated with the throttle response. I had planned on driving for the summer and then making this a winter project, but once I started working on it I couldn't stop, so now its a summer project. thanks for everyone's help
