So today i was going to get some fuel, i was on empty, like running on fumes. I get to a stop sign then it just dies on me. So i run to the gas station and get 2 gallons of fuel and put it in. But it didnt fire up, it was cranking over but wouldnt fire up. So i had to get it towed home. Anyone got any ideas? maybe fuel pump or filter? not enough fuel?
mine ran out of gas did the same thing. kept cranking and cranking and cranking no start. poured some gas in the carb fired right up. thats with a new filter and pump. brand new
yea. i dont know why mine wouldnt start. it cranked for about 2 min without starting. got out poured a little gas in the carb and it fired right up and ran. it ran out of gas in front of my house on the way to the station. if the new pump and filter dont work pour a little gas and see if it helps you out too. but i dont know what would cause that lol
lol. cant beat that. my fuel pump went out in mcdonalds drive through. made my friends get out and push it through the drive through got my food, eat it then bought a fuel pump and put on it haha

I see nothing wrong with that... A man's gotta eat!
The problem may be that the fuel pump just lost it's prime and with only two gallons of gas the level isn't high enough to fill the system. If my truck touches E it will die and I will still have a gallon and a half or more in the tank. I would put more fuel in the tank and then put just a little in the carb to see if it will then fire up and pull the fuel on to the carb.
It takes quite a while for the fuel to be sucked through an empty line, through the pump, and get enough in the carb to start the engine. As suggested, dump a small bit in the carb and maybe it will run long enough to pump the gas to the carb. If not, repeat. Keep in mind the pump must create a vacuum in the line before the gas even starts to pick up and flow through that line.
check out the fuel filter.. If you ran the tank empty there is a good probability that it may have sucked the muck and crap from the bottom of the tank and clogged up the filter. This is a common occurrence if your tank is original and has never been cleaned out.
