Alright so I found out today I need to replace the front seal on my e40d. its in a 93 f350 4x4 with a 7.3, my question is can I drop fix and replace this tranny by myself? also whether drop it myself or get help what else should I do while it is out? Thanks for the help!
So I just talked to a reputable tranny shop and he said 99% of the time there's more problems than just the seal. He said it would fix the problem for a few weeks but the same thing will happen again. Anybody have any input?
I'm loosing fluid from the spout on the bottom of the bell housing on my e4od.

How does the tranny perform and what condition is the fluid? If either isn't right I would rebuild. If both are good I'd consider just rebuilding the pump which is real easy.
On pulling the unit yourself? I just did a AOD by myself and it's not that bad at all. Used a piece of wood on a floor jack to support the weight.
