Well tranny fuild started pouring out the front of my tranny about a week ago so figured it was my front pump seal so i pulled the motor and replaced it. worked good for a day and a half then it started poring tranny fuild out the front agin i'm totaly stumped is it posible i got a bad seal from the parts store or it there any other seals to check? btw why is it that when the e4od is 2 qts low it dont want to let the truck move and the c6 in my bronco has to be almost a gallon low before it starts sliping?
Your Trans is overheating for some reason. My problem began with the converter which cause the seal to overheat and puke out fluid. I would check the cooler lines and the converter.
Your cooler or lines maybe plugged. Also the pump cover oring can leak. A leak in the front is not always the input seal. Also cracks in case , a leaky converter etc can be the culprit.
well i had a tranny shop look at and told me it as my pressure realse valve he says he sees it a lot it e4od with higer horsepower motors and since i got my 460 running close to 400 hp so hes going to fix it the way he does the e4od he builds for drag racing but he checked the case for cracks, lines and the the conveter they were all good

Why would someone put an electronically controlled 4 speed overdrive in a drag car? Just find that to be an odd combination. I've seen many a car go down the strip and ran a few down myself and have never seen the E4OD built to go in a car. I've seen the stocks modified with a shift kit, but I don't really call that a drag car. Just a hopped up street beater. Nothing wrong with them, just not a drag car. What does he do to set them up? If you could ask, I'd really like to know. Just want to learn something new.
he said the main thing he does is block off the hole can't rember if he said front seal or front case that pressure relife valve uses to dump the fluid out and then a few little tweeks like shift kit ect. idk if its true or not he said that in stock cofrigtion if you put much mor than 300-350 hp motor the pressure releif valve freeks out and thinkins theres too much pressure. I relly dont know why some one whould put a e4od in a drag car but i know EFI 460's is a popular swap in older cars and trucks up here cause of the thiner air and the cold weather its hard to get a carb tuned ur having to mess with it every other day. im about ready to put a c6 or a manual in my truck cause ive never had a problem with either one.
