I bought a boat primer bulb with hose.
took the hose and connector of an old tire pressure gauge, put them neatly together, and there you go, just press onto the shraeder valve and start priming the filter with the 1way primer bulb, its been a life saver more than once, firs i had 1leak at nr 8cyl. Return due to bad o-ring and shortly after nr 1 and 5, now i dont even have to loosen the fuel lines to the injectors, and if the old oring isnt too bad i use them as spacer between the plastic return cap and fuel line nut
if you drive it for 10-15 minutes and get the engine up to running temp, does the white smoke go away, or is it always there at idle?
On my 7.3idi e350 it goes away after about 2-5mins of driving from sitting overnight, depends on outside temperatures really, thats why it is important to having working glowplugs due to after glowing when cold and i use avout a half cup of 2-stroke oil every 2filling with diesel, and i can hear the difference in engine sounds, and i like to think it gets a little better fuel consumption
Btw i know for a fact that in norway the cetane level is about 51 and here they like to brag about the enviroment so the goverment mandates that the fuelcompanies add 5-10% bio diesel dont know if it is the same with the ulsfd
51?? wow, that is good.
i remember a long time ago when diesel was 60+ cetane. it is now supposed to be no lower than 45 here in the states, but i have seen fuel rated at 45 only test 40 cetane.
Smoke a lot less after its warmed up but is always there at idle...have 2 full time mechanic buddies that both immediately said head gasket I'm still thinking injector(s)
