Not sure where to post this....
My plan is to put a 1999 F250 Cab on a 1997 F250 frame. plan to keep the 460 5 speed trans and rest of drive train. Question comes up on engine control - use the 1999 sequential fuel injection and MAF or not. Has someone had a thread on taking a 460 EFI up to 5.4 EFI control?::
This will not work well for various reasons. I'll start with the frame and body. Not 100% sure but I don't think any of the mounts for the cab, box, and front end parts will bolt down in the same spot, so you would need to move them.
Second, if your 7.5 is running speed density rather than MAF, it will flat out not work with the computer and harness from a 5.4.
Third, not sure what your '97 looks like, but I would prefer the OBS ford over the '99 super duty body style any day.
This thread may be more fit for the 9th gen trucks forum.
All good points, have not bought donor truck yet. 1st pick would extended cab flareside short box but would like to follow some of the things you have done. Full emission delete and following your thread :Finally tore into my 460 MAF/SEFI project.. Will be looking for a 5.8 extended cab flareside 93-95 truck. Like my 250 w/one ton rear axle frame and really liking the 460.
Thanks again for your reply - need a reality check to many times.
