I have 5 bad lifters on my truck and about fell over when I priced them at ford for $50/ ea. Found these on ebay from Grumpy performance. Anyone know if they are any good or another economic source for quality lifters?

are you just getting them from online, or have you tried the local auto parts store (don't really know much about brands but the lifters seem to be running between 16 dollars a piece so as a set at 150 doesn't seem bad)
I can't say much for aftermarket. But take a look at how many miles some of thes trucks have on the oem lifters. That's a lot of movement. Check out riff raff or call him.

Clay sells them for 1/2 of my jobber price from Ford!
We stick to OEM parts as much as possible, but had a customer with a blown engine back in the shop about 10 months after he went with all Ford parts on his motor rebuild. We found 3 lifters wore down, but that wasn't the cause of the bad engine.
This has made us a little more willing to use good aftermarket parts like Clevite and such. The cost sure makes it attractive for sure.

Little bit of a thread drift, but wmiller's original question's been answered. Can you tell us what the cause of the bad engine was?
