The Ford racing parts are the same of the best you can buy.

If they are not primed with oil, sure there is just a small spring in there. What was "bad" on the summit one? They are probably the same as the FRPP ones. Only a few places actually make lifters, everyone else re-packages them and sells them as their own. Roller lifters very rarely go bad, what was the problem?

When it was in the truck I had cover off and I could push the pushrod down and thats when it was closed and with the rocker at 20ft/lbs, it would move in a good bit. i pulled that lifter out and the one next to it and the one next to it didnt have any play. also the one thats was moving kinda made a small grinding sound when you push in with your finger, kinda sounded like there was something broken in it.

Ah, that's not good. You can take it apart if you want to find out what's broken and see how they work. Just use a pick or small screwdriver to pop out the circlip at the top, and tap it upside down on the counter until the parts come out. Sometimes a little air pressure in the hole in the side of the lifter body helps.

Don't know, take it apart and find out. I've never had one make a "grinding noise" when I compressed it.
