Truck won't crank has been getting harder to start even with the weather warming up here in new england. I thought it was batteries but jumping it did not seem to make a difference. Unplugged and checked the fuse for the fuel bowl, no luck. Can anyone point to something?
You might try smacking the starter a couple times with a mallet. Sometimes that will get another start or two out of one that's on it's way out. You aren't in Southeastern CT are you?
Yes I would try and jump the starter to see if it will turn over the truck. That will eliminate it from the mix. Then you can track back to the fuse panel and the key..
I had the same problem a while back and even though batt terminals looked good, my +cable ends were stretched from years of over torquing them on the batt. With the nuts tight, I could still spin the cable on the batt post. While troubleshooting, I had voltage at the starter, but there wasn't enough current to turn it over.
Sounds like you at least got it somewhere but now, but with it not cranking I would have tried Neutral or wiggling the shifter as the linkage can become loose and not actually indicate P or N.
