My truck has always turned over relatively slow but always fires up. But once in awhile it has spurts where it cranks over incredibly fast, like the new psd's. Yesterday morning went out to start romp...........romp.............romp. I turned off the key, then back on. Let gp's cycle again and then it cranked over fast as can be and fired. Is this a starter maybe?
Sounds like the starter but check all your battery connection before replacing it. The ground wires are usually the ones that are neglected. Check the starter solenoid on the fender and the ones on the starter motor too. Some have reported their starter bolts getting loose...the only way it gets it's ground.

I did check all battery connections and cleaned them real well but I have not checked the solenoids. I'll do that today, I really hope its not the starter.
