Need to remove some coolant
Is the best way to remove some coolant to just use a baster and suck out of the degas bottle? Looks like the dealer topped it off so its on the max line now.

Yep but the max line shouldn't be an issue. That's what it's there for. Sounds like the dealer do the right thing.

The petcock for the radiator is on the lower left side. IIRC it takes a 3/4" socket to loosen if its OEM. Be careful they have a tendency to break if you put too much umph behind them. Just crack it open and drain while watching level in degas bottle

There was a recall and an added sticker to the degas bottle that stated the minimum line would be the new max. This was to prevent puking.

Sounds like someone that didn't have a clue what they were doing was messing with your truck.
The petcock is by far the easiest way to drain to the correct level. I maintain mine at 1/2" BELOW the minimum line and have for YEARS with no issues.
