We are having ignition switch problems with our 89 Econoline 150 V8 5.0 Automatic Transmission. We just replaced the ignition switch, ignition lock and key, & starter solenoid. However, we've only been able to get it started once by bypassing the starter solenoid. We don't feel like we have the starter switch adjusted properly due to everything else that we've read. Any ideas?
I take it is not cranking when you turn the key.
If so check the ST wire where it leaves the Ignition switch plug for power when you turn the key. If you have power there then I would check the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission.
What transmission do you have?
