My cruise has a wierd problem, it only works for about a hour a day. I can use it first trip in the morning but then it will no longer work until the truck is off for a while, like over night. If I am on a longer drive it will work for about a hour and then quit.
I get a occasional DTC for P0069 MAP correlation error but thats the only code I get. Coolant & oil temps aren't too bad, 10-12 degrees which I know is impending doom but not just yet.
Any ideas? I really hate to pay someone to do work, but I just don't have the diagnositic tools to figure this out.
That is with the key on but the engine not running. Like me, it is completely predictable. On the same route it will quit working at pretty much the same place every time. If I don't use cruise, but try later it won't work. It's as if something is getting hot and failing, and then working again after it cools down, except my understanding of how the cruise works is that it is purely a function of the PCM and there is no servo or part that is the cruise control
Thanks for your help. So far I have replaced the switch on the master cylinder, the clutch switch, the brake switch, the MAP sensor, and the EGR valve (unrelated?). I monitor with a scan gauge II and I also use the torque app. I feel like I'm just throwing parts; I need some better tools...
