Cruise control

Got an F250 XLT, 4X4, 7.5L engine. Just bought it used. In great shape, but cruise control is not functioning. Fuse is OK. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

I cleaned the tracks under the steering wheel when I pulled it to fix another problem in the column and the cruise control started working.

Probably the cruise control vacuum hose is loose or cracked. Try tracing the cruise control hose to the servo.

Do your reverse lights work? If not then the MLPS switch on the trany is bad. For some reason they work off the same sensor.

need more info

F-Series cruise control changed with the 1993 model year from the earlier vacuum modulated style to an electronic / electrical servo. Some of the controls interchange, but the majority of the system was new.
