telescopic mirrors???

I have a 99 250 s.d. with the larger towining style mirrors. I don't know if these are able to be pushed (telescopic) in or not.
I've had someone tell me they all are and to just push really hard.
I've tried and the didnt move and I don't want to break them finding out.
My question is, are the telescopic mirrors an option or are all the larger mirrors telescopic?? Thank you.

Yours are NOT telescopic. They were an option on 2002, standard on the 2003. You can order them from Ford. They bolted right up to my 99.

The tow mirrors changed in 2000 to the telescopic arm, in 2002 to the "fold forward" design, and 2003 w/ turn signals and heat.

Interestingly enough those mirrors fold both directions. I won't go into detail about How I discovered that. Hehe. Glass still won't handle direct impact with a tree while backing.....argh.
