I did a search for this and was not able to find the answer. I've got a friend that just bought a 99 F350 with power mirrors. He has a very old narrow garage. He is thinking about upgrading to the powered telescoping mirrors but he is wondering this: when you push the telescoping mirrors all the way in and swing the mirror as "tight" to the truck as it will go, is your truck narrower than it would be if you swung your non-telescoping powered mirrors "tight" to the truck. In other words, is there a "width" advantage to the telescopic mirrors in the fully retracted position??? Can you fit through a narrower opening??
I love questions like this! I just went out on the lot, and found 2 Super-Dutys sitting next to each other: one with standard mirrors, the other with the telescopics. The standard mirrors definitely sit closer to the body when folded flush, by at least an inch.

Thanks for checking that, I was kinda thinking that would be the outcome. I have the standard folding mirrors and was looking at them last night and thinking it would be hard to get much narrower. In addition, his old truck was the old body style (1995) and I think the newer Superduties might be a little wider (???). Oh well, thanks again for your help!!
How wide is his garage? Is it narrower than a standard 7x9 single garage opening? I can fit mine in with teloscoped mirrors just slid in, not pulled up against the windows.....I have a standard 7x9 opening.
