1994 f150 headers to y pipe fitting. oh yea, and im a new guy

Alright, I know. I'm an FNG. and this is the only way I actually know how to ask a question on this site at the moment so bear with me please? (And my spelling isn't the best) ok! So i'm kinda frustrated right now. I have a 94 f150 302 regular cab XLT 133 WB. I've had the engine re built, bored out 40 over with a hot cam put in. and I baught an American thunder flowmaster exhaust system, a flomaster cat and y pipe, and flomaster shorty headers. My dad and I have been working on this truck for over 3 months now and we are sooo close to getting it done. The only problem I see is that the y pipe openings are way to small to fit over the flange on the headers we spent so much time getting to fit on the engine and it's causing an exhaust leek. We already bent the pipe into place and im sure the headers are butted up on the block real good. So the leek isn't there, it's got to be the y pipe. Any suggestions without having to get them pressed to fit? Or someone I can send them to in order to get them pressed? Id really appreciate the info.

You might try re-posting this in the Performance and General Engine Build and Exhaust system threads.
You'll find some real knowledgeable guys working in there with similar issues. Good Luck with your project!

Im pretty sure im going to run into the same problem. Im no exhaust expert and this is the first time handling with ball and flange type hookup, but when I recieved my JBA shorty headers and magnaflow y-pipe (93307) I thought the hookup seemed a bit odd. Hoping for any experts to chime in.

Take the Y pipe and a header to a muffler shop and have them flare the female ends a but more to better fit the headers.

An Exhaust pipe flare tool can be purchased at most local auto parts stores.

^This. The best and easiest way to get it done.
