Has anyone installed these lights? I am thinking about it for my 02 Excursion. I know that to get the real good ones you have to spend more money, but I just cant right now. I have to replace one side so I am looking to make an upgrade without breaking the bank right now.
I made the MASSIVE mistake last week of installing Spyder halogen projectors in my Excursion after putting the '05 grille on. What was worse was I sold my old headlights before I had installed the new ones and didn't realize how bad they look so I've had to use them.
My wife walked outside after I installed them and asked why on earth I was driving a 'cholo-mobile' and as someone that wants factory this and factory that, I'd go with aftermarket lights like that.
On Tuesday I ordered a new set of factory '05 style lights. Today I ordered a 55W HID kit from Retro Solutions. I can't wait to have normal headlights again and I'm looking forward to having some nice bright headlights.
Thank you for your response. But mine is a 2002, with a 2002 grill. Forgive my ignorance, but was the problem the grill? or the lights????
Thank you.
Keith.
The lights are crap. You'll still have to modify your header panel to fit them in, they are NOT a factory fit. On top of that the halogen projectors suck as well as the halogen reflectors (high beams).
Lastly, the wiring is completely ghetto and the build quality sucks.
Unless you replace your 2002 Lights with OEM 2002 lights you're going to hack the header panel. IMHO the best alternative is to cut out that header panel and install 2005 lights.
The lights come in pretty red boxes and will make you think you made a good investment - you didn't.
Thank you. Where would you suggest the best place to go for the OEM lights other than the obvious dealership. Where I would need to bring a prophylactic. LOL
