That's a good find there. Wonder what else the guy has stashed away. Shipping is a killer price for that. Hope it gets packaged with great care.

That would be the problem. He will probably slide in the box, tape it up and ship it. Keep your fingers crossed that it arrives in the same shape as when it was shipped.

Yeah it did. After looking at it real close it had what appeared to be damage around the headlight bezel and the lower horizontal bar.
I was going to buy it but then I would've had to strip it and take the damage out then re-polish it. I figured to much for me with no profit left, And I don't even need it.

Did'ja notice in the ad that the seller claims his dad ordered this grille in the late 1970's? But the shipping label on the box is dated 1-20-1984. Guess the seller didn't notice.

This D0TZ-8200-D grille was actually the "service part replacement" for the original 1970 grille that came with specific right and left inserts....which were sold by themselves.

This grille's inserts are the same right/left. 1970 original specific R/L grille inserts, ditto 1971 & 1972 specific inserts cannot be installed in this frame as the mounting tabs are located in different places.

'Course the seller was probably unaware of this, and I would assume so are most of y'all.

But, IMO this grille was a steal at this price...despite the fact it's 1970 only.

Do you guys really look?

When I started this thread, a 1970 NOS grille was listed on ebay.
item # 221402375841
This item ended 3-29-14 at 13:54.33 It sold for $356.01 with $20.00 shipping.

Ok here is where it pays to keep tabs on items and sellers.

The seller than RE-LISTED the grille ebay item # 221407707126
this listing ended when I emailed the seller asking "What happened to the sale"
I sent email at Apr-01-14 06:12 PM I never got a response.
The new listing ended Apr 01, 2014 18:14:49 PDT
By the seller.
Could be a mistake was made and the seller relisted on accident. Or the more likely reason, the seller was trying to get money from unsuspecting ebayers.

Wow!!! With no response when I asked my question I'm leaning towards the latter.

'Emailed the seller and it appears the top bidder flaked out... look for it to be re-listed I suppose.

Here is where communication paid off. I put in a coupla bids and said the heck with it......I got outbid. Oh well. I followed up with an email stating I wanted to be first in line in case the high bidder flaked out... he did and I subsequently got an email from the seller with an offer at my lower bid. We discussed over several emails what I was working on and he took extra special care to package it nice and comfy.. look below.

Confirmed. It was re-listed in error. Ya prolly didn't get a response cuz I was already in line. Hehehehe

The apparent damage was only dirt from the wasps that had gotten into the box and built a mud nest. I licked my finger and wiped away the ""damage". The other blemishes feels like it rubbed up against some tar paper. It's as clean as a whistle. SUPERB... and grill inserts are included to boot.

BAM!

.... and from the same seller I picked up an NOS NIB 71-77 steering wheel (for my '73).

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but...considering that the grille box has a date on the shipping label of 1-20-1984...

When did the seller first acquire this steering wheel and what is its part number prefix?

Original 1971/73 steering wheels were available in colors (Black/Blue/Green/Red).

1974: Ford obsoleted the 1971/73 steering wheels, replaced them with the black steering wheel that was subsequently used 1974/77.

If the prefix is D4TZ .. black steering wheel now repro'd by Carpenter.

And there's another black steering wheel that was used with Speed Control only on 1975/77's, its prefix is D5TZ.

1971/77 F100/350 steering wheels were also used on 1974/77 Bronco (no Speed Control) & 1975/77 Econoline.

Yeah. 'Noted the grill is a service replacement. Doesn't matter so long as it's not stamped out of China/Taiwan.

71-77 is what it fits not the specific application . The 'correctness' does not concern me. I'm running a 78/79 wheel now and it's going in the trash.
