Well Nathan (Baatzy) came over today and we had no luck trying to load the tunes on his Hydra chip using my laptop as well. I was able to change my Hydra tunes around but when we plugged in his chip it would always stop at 20% like he posted.
So we called PHP and it seems to be the same situation Hwood121 experienced. PHP said Nathan's chip was showing symptoms of a bad chip and that they would send him a new one.
Good on you for helping him out and helping to diagnose the issue and sounds like it will lead to a solution for him.
Yes, a big thank you to Rich for helping me out with my chip today. It was nice to figure out what was going on for certain. Also, he let me take both his 250 and excursion for a drive to see what a tuned and a modded and tuned truck were like. They were both very nice trucks. Looking forward to meeting up again some day and hopefully someday I can return the favor.
We talked to Jay at PHP and he told me to send it back to them and they would look in on it. He said they had a batch of chips that seemed to be prone to this issue, so they would take care of it. Kind of disappointing, but thats the way it is.
I will have to wait a few days to see what happens, I didn't get a chance to send the chip off today as I got home from Rich's and found a fallen fence that left 250 head of cattle in the wrong spot, mixed in with each other. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it on its way back south.
Anytime Baatzy, Sorry to hear about the fence & cattle. That had have been a hard afternoon with the winds blowing 40+ mph and the temps dropping from 65F to 25F. My hat's off to you & your dad for pulling that off......
It sure was interesting, with all the heat it seemed like some places in the yards had no bottom. We got them all sorted out before the big temp drop came through though. That occurred on the way home from unloading the first load of cattle. Man did that make a difference, I went from being able to cruise fully loaded in 6th gear no problem, to having to be in 5th gear to keep going when the wind changed directions. I think when I was cruising into the wind my boost gauge (Torque Pro) was sitting at about 15 psi the whole ten miles. Then when the storm front actually came through you could really tell there was a trailer back there. The wind picked up even more and we were probably in 40mph average winds for a couple of trips.
They are replacing the chip..... no biggy really, these things happen.... just wish I had tried to program it BEFORE I removed my PCM lol.... oh well, it is what it is
