With more and more people using Torque Pro, I was wondering how many of you would find it useful to be able to take a .csv log file from Torque and upload it to a web site, select the data to use and have it spit out a graph you could save. If the response warrants it, I may work on coding something up in my spare time.
That would be cool. But its also not hard to do with excel. I've got a video on it in production. If you can create a sort of drag and drop site, that would probably benifit the less technically inclined.
Here are the issues the person logging needs to take into consideration: The number of scales allowed.
How to line up symbiotic data (like IPR and ICP).
Setting realistic maximums.
Try to "synchronize" maximums - like limits of 3500, 350, and 3.5.
Color coding and line modifying (like dots and dashes) to prevent confusion.
When the user just grabs AE and uses default maximums - those maximums are for other vehicles, like gassers. 8000 RPM max? Really?
I'm not sure what file formats AE will export, but if .csv is one of them, it would work with what I've got in mind. And yes, with the cool colored lines! A graph isn't a graph without cool colored lines
Yeah, I wish AE would save the parameters you set from the last session. It is a real PIA to have to o in a scale them every frickin time.
ahem... From the class (I know... buried deep in 40 pages):
Set up your PIDs the way you like them for a particular purpose.
Name that session (in a location you can find again) that tells you the purpose. Then, when you start your next connection, select the purpose of the session:
