Bill, can you re-check to see if this is the right number? I cannot find it on the supplied pic from the catalog. (I also don't see anything for the '66, but assume the frame is the same back there for the '65.) I called Green and they had no idea what bolt I would need and had neither of the numbers listed. Interestingly the carrier bar (C5TZ-1443-A) is also sold by Green used. Hardly seems NOS? Is that normal?

Thanks

My 66 LWB has the spare underneath.

Its a 235/75R15 and is really to big to fit properly.

I have a 225/70R15 that Im going to mount and see if fits better.

When mounted which way does the outside wheel face? Toward the ground or the bottom of the truck bed?

Anyone?

Does the wheel mount with the mounting surface pointed to the ground or to the bed of the truck?

Don't know that it really matters, I have done it both ways.

the outside of the rim faces down, towards the ground... if i remember right the original jack sets inside the rim while secured under the truck.

In the absence of any guidance at the time I hung my spare tire, I decided to have the outside down to make it easier to reach the valve stem to check tire pressure. It seems to work OK so maybe John is right in that it doesn't matter one way or the other unless you can make your jack storage work as you say. It seems to me that I was once told - don't remember by whom - that the jack for the '66 was stored either behind or under the seat. Maybe that was just where he personally stored it. Since my jack is stored in my toolbox, it's not an issue for me.

I stopped hauling mine around under the 66, but the valve stem would go down if I were. That is the way I have it under the 06.

Mr. Bill, You put yours under the way that make you feel all warm & fuzzy.
