I doubt the dealer would do it. They do maintenance and repairs, even major ones. But they shy way from what they consider "alterations". They don't have a specific procedure to do it.
where is your shop ReBilld? i would like to try and do this myself, but i also want to talk to my ford dealer in the area
I am in Southern WV, just outside of Beckely. It's just my shop here at my house. I doubt you'll be able to find a shop that would or could do the swap, and if you did, they would charge you an arm and a leg, and I doubt a Ford dealership would even touch it. If you wanted to make they drive here to my house, I would do all the work for your E4OD, and it would only cost you the fuel to drive down here.

Maryland Performance Diesel is relatively close, and ive heard good things about them. WV is a bit far, especially with my 4.10 rear axle! but like i said, i would like to do the build myself. i found a nice looking new (im assuming) one at Ford ZF 5 Speed Transmission Sale | S5-47, S5-42, S5-47M
have you guys heard anything about these guys? i might get it shipped to here.
That ^^^^^^ is a reman tranny. A new one would be many, many dollars more. The main paragraph on that page actually has a scroll bar to the right; there's more to read, with a little info about the reman work.
If your going to pay a shop then you should just get a BTS trans built.
Once again, Mike is spot on. I'm pretty sure you're going to have sticker shock once you buy the parts and factor in labor. That and having a "shop" do it does not quantify as doing it yourself...
Did this mod couple years ago on the Red sig truck. i am fortunate in that I had a complete parts truck so it was basically unplug/unbolt and swap. To keep track I used Zip Lock bags and boxes to track all parts for each truck respectively and labelled each bag. Basic tools is all you really need. I did buy a set of really long extensions for a total of 4-5 feet to make it easy to undo the tranny to block bolts. Also some long Jack stands to support the rear of the truck and lift it really high makes it easy to drop tranny and T case. It's not that bad a job just do your research, track parts and do it. If I can anyone can hahaaa.
Welcome to FTE! I'd say you'd have a hard time finding a shop that has ever done this before, and I wouldn't let them mess with it unless they'd done it before. No one likes to be the guinea pig. You'll find more expertise on here than probably anywhere else. I've also done several of these swaps (right along with Bill - he's my father in law). It's not rocket science, but it does take a fair amount of research. Here's a link to my swap thread, which has a lot of good documentation mixed in with the usual BSing of us guys on here. It's worth a read if you are serious about doing this yourself. There are several other threads with great documentation as well (I just don't have the links handy, but you can go to "search this forum" on the main page of this forum and use that to find the other threads). And there are some good links in my thread as well. Several on the first page.

What?! I'd almost take you up on this all the way from California! That's a pretty good offer!

This looks really helpful, thanks! I'm going to continue doing a lot of research on this topic and scout out my local junkyards. I would like to do this all in my driveway, so it will be a little difficult. Thanks again for the help everyone!
I need a good one. LOL! The one I have needs rebuilt, and the one in my son's truck we don't know if it's good yet. I guess we'll find out tomorrow maybe
