e4od to zf5spd swap
What? :)
The one off my Bronco could have been made to work but it wrapped
around the frame and I didn't like it.

You're right, it doesn't go to the ZF itself but there's the VSS circuit for
the speed control that goes to the trans-end of the speedo-cable. :)
Darthice, yes I do. :/ ...just keep putting off advertising it on Craig's List
because I haven't got the 1356E's wiring fixed yet. ATF messes up wire
insulation looks like, never messed with old "electric automatics" before,
so didn't know that about ATF before. No sweat on the E4od, the vehicle
side of the wiring is messed up but that's all. On the 1356E the wiring
comes out of inside the transfer case. :/
Rene' LOL :), "nss"? :/ Starter cut-out circuit? What?
Jas and Rene'...
Since I've got both a '91 F150 351w+E4OD and a '90 F250 351w+ZF I
could carefully measure them and get back to you. Off hand, thinking
there's something funny about the height and might be a need to drill
new holes where-azz the "right" Ford part will just bolt right into holes
already in the frame. BTDT :)
There's a whoppin' difference in the Bronco's E4OD crossmember from
the ZF's simple crossmember, but that don't mean it can't be made to
work. ;) I didn't want it to hang down under frame like that, if I hadn't
had a parts truck, I would've been looking for a ZF crossmember too! :)

No need to cut and splice. :)
Its contact is inside the plastic box surrounding the clutch pushrod.
Ford calls a "Clutch Interlock Switch" on a manual equipt vehicle. ;)
The clutch interlock switch's wire-plug is wired into the harness and
when it's equipt with an automatic (E4OD at least) Ford plugs a block
into the CIS's plug which jumpers all three circuits.
I left the "block" in place so all three circuits are jumper-ed on mine. :)
YMMV on whether you want to do it that way on yours or not. ;)
My '75 I got in Feb of '75 didn't have a "clutch cut-out" and I never
needed one either, but have used it to my benefit a couple times. ;)
(long stories)
The Sears/Dana speed control I installed in about '76 never had a clutch
cut-out either, so I'm used to it being that way. YMMV on that one too. ;)

ps- here's a short story on my use with something besides my '75...
During "switch inspection" several guys in pickups (the Roadmaster
and gandy-dancer in a motorcar) would race from one switch to the
next. :) ...race so not to have to eat so dangged much dust.
"how you get going so dangged quick PeeWee? :)"
"I leave it in 1st and just turn the key and GAS it! :D"
He was a little pissed when I started beatin' 'im on
the get-aways right after that. LOL :)
(Peewee is Glen Duncan, how's it hangin' Peewee? :)
