Is it any big deal to install a gauge by the WTS light? I'm pretty sure there isn't anything behind that spot. What do you use to make a 2" hole? I'm going to install another EGT gauge there with the probe in the passenger side exhaust manifold. My autometer Phantom gauge works most of the time but sometimes I look at it and the needle is straight down, . Darin install two EGT gauges so I thought, why not? I bought a Isspro 2 like the one I have in the mule thinking that one out of two will work when I need one. I literally drive by a EGT gauge when on a hill or bucking a head wind.
There shouldn't be anything behind it, my TS switch is mounted in that location, i suppose if you could get the bezel off without breaking it you could use a 2 IN. hole saw and cut through it GENTLY and SLOWLY pushing the saw through and at best you would have to tidy up the edges of your cut with some sandpaper/emry cloth.
Thanks Guys, sounds like a plan. As soon as I get rid of my company I'll see how it goes. I saved the drill and tap from my last install so hopefully the install will go good.
I've checked all the wires and connections Mike, I don't know what is going on with that gauge.
That's where I put my digital egt gauge Glenn. I know you bought another gauge already, but I think it would look good to have two digital egt gauge next to each other in that spot. I want to get another one and make it a boost gauge.Camera19_zps022e6dda.jpg Photo by stainlessstroker95 | Photobucket
Glenn, for what it is worth, had the exact same problem with my Phantoms on my last truck and they replaced it. It would be pointing straight down, and sometimes would peg all the way! It was maddening and messing with the wiring did nothing.
Did you get ahold of auto meter Byron or the people you bought it from? Its been over a year so I probably don't have a chance to get it replaced. Last summer I ran a new power line to it and fixed it for a long time, now its starting to screw up again.

Looks really good Glenn! I did call the people at Autometer and they replaced it with no question. It was only 9 months though, so I am not sure how they would be after a year. Just call them and see! They were good to deal with a couple years ago.
All you're missing is the firemans seat on that loco!
haha, actually Todd, we all sit in the firemans seat, LOL The engineer sits on the right side of the cab in the locomotive. My problem is, my engineer wife will not touch the 'throttle', LOL (I don't mean that one, get your mine out of the gutter!)
