I added a second power port several years ago on my 2007 6.0 and tapped it to upfitter #4 which is obviously a 10A. A bit later I got a small rechargeable StreamLight flash light so I added a 12v plug under the dash and tapped it also onto upfitter #4 and plugged flash light into and works like a champ. I just installed a Kenwood DDX 470 deck and got a rear camera. I have it all tapped in to the reverse light and want to tap it to this upfitter switch as well. Is that too much on it? The power rarely has anything plugged into it. So likely hood of all being used at the same time is rare and the camera is only on when in reverse.
That would be your call. Standard electrical rule of thumb is all loads should not total over 60% of breaker rating. I would not go over 80% myself.
Standard national electrical code(nec) for line voltage 110-600 volt is 80% based on the circuit/ wire size; 12.5 amps for a 15 amp circuit, 16 amps for a 20 amp circuit, 24 amps for a 30 amp circuit and so on.
