Long story short, i am looking at a 2007 F250 6.0 with 130k miles, i know there have been issues and with a few upgrades the truck could be great. i am in need of a diesel truck as it will fit into the plans i have for it, how ever $ is an issue, so the 7.3 is really out of the question. The 6.0's are a dime a dozen here in Houston.
i have found a couple of trucks i am going to go look at and test drive. what are there any clear signs under the hood or else where, that might show that "upgrades/corrections" have been made, EGR delete, head bolts etc... i am mechanically inclined and rebuild harley's all the time (beer money)
Bshipp - there is a fairly long list of things to look for, which is what makes an offer like the one Toreador gave you stand out. If you can find any way to do so, take him up on it.
since you know it's a 2007, you can focus on that MY info.
Good luck.
You'll WANT to get a scangauge2 (or other odb2 based GAUGE) that will let you read LIVE data while you drive so you can monitor nearly everything that the engine has to offer in terms of diagnosis and maintenance items..
IE: is the delta between coolant and oil greater than 15* fully warmed (190*) on the highway driving 65-ish? If so, the oil cooler is likely going to need to be replaced, and likely the EGR cooler as well.

thanks in advance.
If they are a dime a dozen, I will take a couple of dozen.lol
Since you're in Houston, should you come across one you like, let me know and I can hook up the AE and see what if anything is wrong with it.
I would be doing this for sure!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I would say also, Toreador_Diesel would be a fine "mod" for the truck you end up with. Pack him along on all your family outings! A great tool to have in the box.
Thanks for the welcome, and for the advice. I plan on going out to look at it after work (if this fire pump ever decides to play nice) talking with a guy at work today he gave me sine key places to look at by taking me over to his '06 6.0 as far as checking for head books and egr etc... if I pick it up I will for sure get in touch with Toreador and get deeper into it.
Again thanks for the above and hope I get to become an official powerstroke owner soon
So... I had worked a deal with over the phone and agreed I would be out after work. Called them when I was heading that way to find out the same guy I had been dealing with was in the process of selling the same truck to someone else. @$$wipe never even called me to see if I wanted to change price. IMHO Humble Hyundai can suck it!

Happened to me when I was looking last month. Just look at it as you dodged a bullet and keep on looking.
