I had a serious ski accident a couple weeks ago that has left me with a fractured femur and fractured back. I will recover full but it will be a long recovery. I have a 2012 F150 with 60/40 seats and have never found them comfortable and certainly now with my back problems one can only imagine how they will feel. I was wondering if anyone has ever had an upholstery company add memory foam to the seats and while the covers were off I was thinking of adding after market seat heaters.
If you have any experience or suggestions they would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Don
Here is a link to heated seat inserts that go under the upholstery and you won't feel the wires. Keep in mind that cloth seats will need a more powerful heater to get the same effect you have with leather.
My wife has chronic pain and tried a lot of things in the car. Heated seats definitely help and I know she has memory foam cushions for the seat bottom, lower back, and head rest. I will ask her to send you a message using my account with tips that might help.
Hi, this is QwkTrip's wife. I have a seat cushion that has memory foam in it yet is also stiff enough to give good support for the lower back. It is a little bit of an investment ($135.00) but well worth it in my opinion :
It made a 2200 mile trip doable and actually even enjoyable at times. There is a matching back piece which we did not purchase but seems to have good reviews. I did use an adjustable lumbar air pillow with optional heat that I found at Walgreens for the small of my back. Muscle relaxers helped, too, of course but tend to make most people a bit sleepy to drive...
Hope this helps.
