heated seats??

I think my heated seats are going so to speak
I get heat on my back and but but not on the front of the seat (thighs) could the seat element portion be going while the back of the seat element is fine.
I figured be worth it to get fixed as I plan to keep truck a while......
anythoughts. If I put a meter on it even if element is gone I prolly will ge current right????
