If the crankcase is overfull that oil is going to go somewhere. And if it is thinned by gas then it will go past seals much easier than oil.

Exactly my thinking in post #21 Gary.

Be aware that a hydrolocked engine can easily bend a rod.

Ripped Fuel pressure regulator can add huge amounts of gas to the pan.
Pull the vac line off the regulator, if is squirts gas out, the regulator needs replacement.
(hydro-locked my 90 ranger that way)

That vacuum line is connected to the #8 intake runner on a 302, correct???

I don't remember... But if ANY gas comes out the vac port on the regulator, that's bad news.

I recall the PFR vacuum line is centered in the middle of the upper intake for the 302/351 engines. Then drains trough the PCV valve on the bottom of the upper intake.
