Will it hurt the engine?

I have had my 68 parked since May of last year. I needed to do some major electical repairs and it's taking a lot longer than planned. Anyway, I put in a fresh 302 back in Dec 2002. It still only has about 250 miles on it. I'm just wondering how long is too long. It's parked in the garage. No weather, other than temperature changes, can reach the engine.

Should be fine. I've heard of them sitting outside for longer than this and they started right up.

If you can crank the engine, it might be a good idea to turn it over every so often, just to move thengs in relation to one another.

actually might be good to pull the dist. and prime the oil pump and get some oil into it before you start it , although I know of lots of engines that sit for years and start up no problem but it's got to be hard on the bearings.

thats what i was gonna say, pull the coil wire off. Or if you got time and a drill and the rod thing that engages the fuel pump, go ahead and remove the distributor and spin it up a little bit to get the oil flowin and flush out those cobwebs from the oil galleys (just kidding)
