I am building a 56 with an IFS suspension and a 347 Windsor based stroker Motor. Does anyone know what long tube exhaust headers will fit?

Jerry, Welcome to FTE! We would love to see pictures of your truck.
I'm no expert, but I would say, a lot depends on what type of IFS you have and how your steering is set up. Room tends to be tight on the drivers side.

Pictures would help that's for sure. (I'm not saying that just because I love pictures, although I do love pictures.)

Welcome Jerry. I'll proly get some disagreement on this but....first off if you are set on long tubes because they look cool or you just like them, then by all means use em. Otherwise, I've spent a lot of time on the dyno with my mustangs. My last time I was at Panhandle Performance in Panama City tuning the car. The guys there are brilliant. Mark had me use 1 3/4" shorties. Long tubes are such a pain to me. Anyway, they were only worth 6-8 hp over the shorties which absolutely sealed the deal for me. Mark showed me why you have to get to serious levels before you really need long tubes. Something that surprised me was after making a bunch of pulls with the factory fan on I swapped on an electric fan and put down 10hp more to the tires. My point is it all depends on your reasoning for using long tubes. I like the Hooker Super Comps but have never used them in the setup you are building. And I know you didn't ask IF but WHICH. Just thought I'd throw my thoughts out....I'm bored...lol.

your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

Here's How to Post Pictures:
1. Login to FTE.
2.Click User CP (In the Top Left Hand Corner)

Charlie I'm with Wayne on this...Shorties are the way to go unless you "just have to have them"! I have had several 347 Mustangs with short and long tubes...my Prochared F1R car is the only one that saw SERIOUS gains with long tubes and it was 900 + hp...Just a thought.. I have BBK Ceramic shorties from a Fox mustang on mine and no clearance issues..

Don, I also use the BBK Ceramics. I've had the FRPP Ceramics and while they were made good the ceramic wasn't so good. I also have been a MAC dealer since almost day one with them....ummm...I'm not so fond of MAC headers.

To help you realize the difference between the LTH and STH, it has to do with Cam overlap and Header Pulse rate. A LTH will have a better pulse rate which is designed to not only scavenge the exhaust but also create a pulse rate to help draw fuel on the intake stroke. The LTH will give you better Mid to High range power at high rev which is why most racers prefer the long tube design.
A STH does scavenge the exhaust but has very little pulse rate to work with there and is a better exhaust for low end to mid range driving.
Realize also that exhaust design needs to match not only the engine design ( stroke, pistons, Cam and Fuel delivery) but also your driving style ( Road or Strip )
I've had LTH's on my modified Ford Small Block in my 53' but had to modify the long tube's to fit the stock suspension and original stock trans cross member. I enjoyed the performance ( considering the engine build ) of the LTH as to where the cam kicked in but since I'm rebuilding to a daily driver my choice will be the STH.Most here on the forum go with the Sanders Shorty and have good results which will be my choice.

Another vote for Sanderson headers and shorties for the street. Sanderson makes a heavy duty header that won't leak at the flanges and will outlast 2 sets of the toilet paper thin tube "bargain" headers. Sanderson offers excellent support, if they tell you a header will fit, and for some reason it doesn't, they'll take it back and/or build you a custom modified set that will fit. ALWAYS get them HT powder coated, it makes them less "ringy" and dramatically reduces under hood temperatures.
