Hi in a nut shell the brakes intermittently fail to stop the truck. The pedal seems to bottom out, but not all the way to the true bottom of the pedal travel. When this happens the owner of the truck drives on the side walk or any place there is nothing to hit. So that's why I'm here to find out what is wrong with this system, help a brother out ya know. So I know 93 Bronco was the first generation 1st model year 4W ABS. The ABS is illuminated and I found the red data link. Anybody know what sockets to jump to put the ABS into test mode? Thanks for any help on the subject.
pull codes first and see what comes up. if the peddle goes to the floor than the master cylinder may be bad. check vacum line going from the upper into to the master cylinder

Do you know what pins to jump to activate the code sequence on the red anti lock test/data plug. I found the routine in a Haynes manual describing installing a jumper wire across two pins, turning on the key, removing the wire and then counting the blinks. The manual text assigns a letter to the pins to jump but the picture of the connector pins is labeled with numbers and the color code letters
Make sure the cruise control release switch is not fried. It screws into the top of the master cylinder. This will cause the pedal to go to the floor also if it is toast. Ford had a recall on these because the originals can catch fire. It's a 15$ part that most auto parts store carry.

I had a friend who had that problem so I have seen the recall repair. I will have to double check but either the recall was done or it didn't apply to this vehicle. Thank you for your input on the subject.
