Hey Gang, Great forum
Got a 93 F150 2wd/302/e4od. Right after I start the engine the ABS lamp starts flashing. Is this a problem with the ABS? I dont whether the truck is equipped with ABS or not as I bought it used.
The easiest way to tell if you have abs or not is to look under the hood near the master brake cylinder. If you have a large block near it with a bunch of steel brake lines going in and out of it, then you have abs brakes. The first thing I would do is check every wire harness going to that abs module. I had an abs light once or twice and each time it was a loose connection or in one case a bare wire. If you cannot find the problem, then chances are you may just need your brakes flushed and bled. Let the repair shop, preferably the dealer do this. And keep in mind I am usually very opposed to going to dealerships for maintenance. But if you do not bleed your abs brakes the correct way, the abs system will not work at all.
Sorry for the long winded reply.

You're describing a GM ABS system or a newer Ford. The '87-96 Ford RABS valve is mounted inside the frame rail under the brake booster and only has 2 lines & a small wiring harness.

All F-series from '87-up have ABS, and it's RABS until '97, when it goes to 4WABS. Broncos got 4WABS in '93. The flashing light indicates a problem and the Haynes manual tells how to read the codes.
is flashing a code 15 which if memory serves is a memory
failure. Can I reset the ABS system to clear it or does the ABS control module need to be replaced?
I did ALL the troubshootn' on this problem, and wound up at several dead ends. Finally looked at the FUSE box, fuse 13 controls the Cruise AND the ABS what an idiot I am.................two weeks down the drain...........lesson learned......... word to the wise is sufficent............
