I guess I should have clarified my post. That other poster said to take out one battery and put in one new. Then go to the other battery and change it out. Said not to take out both at same time.
Modern vehicles of different makes oftentimes have problems disconnecting battery power. Have read some horror stories, Cadillac (some models) require a trip to the dealer to reset the air conditioning, stuff like that. Nice!
It's way beyond just losing radio presets at this point. Serious issues may not apply in this application tho something to be aware of. You can buy a tool that installs in the cigar lighter or 12 volt port to keep power applied. Haven't bought one myself, have used a motorcycle battery and jumper cables for modern trucks. Any technique that keeps power applied will work.
If swapping them out one at a time will accomplish the same thing that's a good plan. Better safe than sorry.
Put in the new Motorcraft batteries (750 CCA)yesterday. Take the old ones back monday to get my core charges back. Truck operations back to normal.
Were $119.99 each and $18 core charge each at local dealer . Went to O'rielly's first for a supposed special on line. NOT! They had motorcraft and wanted $149 each. I said you're kidding right?
