Another question: I am looking into alternative batteries. I have read in other posts about motorcraft batteries being a good replacement battery but am thinking about Optima. Anyone have any good or bad info? Thanks.
I've used a Optima battery and it worked fine. The only issue is that many of the batteries today are very good and is it worth the price for the Optima when a replacement is cheap?
Yeah, actually the Walmart batteries were best rated in the last Consumer's Report (I don't think they considered the Optima). But, the Optima might be worth considering if you drive off-road or otherwise shake up your battery. Its spiral construction is stronger than the usual grids, but the cost is approximately double. Worst case, you'd probably still be money ahead in buying a second conventional in a few years.
Thanks all for your input . I still don't know what I'm going to do . I will be checking on the deals for all of the batteries and check more on them. I understand that the optima doesn't leak or have the acid leak around the terminals. I hate that .
