Excursion problem help needed (Accelerator pedal issues)
Im having some serious problems with my Exc. Thought I had it fixed. Then it started again yesterday. I can press the gas pedal to take off at a light about a inch or so and the truck takes off like im pressing it to the floor. But im not moving my foot. And going down the road it will cut off and right back on and not a lot of power. Then it may not do this for 3 or 4 days. I just had a new brain box put in. I changed the fuel filter. I changed the pressure reg. behind the pump. After the brain box it did great for 5 days. Then here we go again. I have a big trip in two weeks and got to get it repaird. Thanks for help you can give.

It is best for you to go to the 7.3 diesel site and give details about your problem, people on that site has more knowledge about the 7.3 diesel engine than us Excursion owners here.
It sounds like a loose ground to the TPS, but that's not to say this is what's happening. You can try a new TPS, but that's an expensive experiment... like the new PCM was.
You can...
Remove the TPS.
Spray the connections and the throttle with electric contact cleaner (available at any auto parts store).
Exercise the TPS with the cleaner in there.
Apply a light coating of dielectric grease to the connector before installing.
This has a history of "cleaning the age" out of the TPS and it may or may not fix the issue... but it's almost no cost. Ideally, you would have a scan tool that shows your TPS voltage (plus a few other key PIDs) and you can log while driving. If something happens in the future, the log would show what was going on when it happened. If you already have a scan tool, you can look at the TPS output and exercise it before you clean it... so you can get a Before and After reading.
Rich's suggestion to use a scan tool, or perhaps even Torque, to check the TPS voltage is a good one. However, there were enough issues with the 2001-2003 TPS' that I'd be tempted to replace it. On these trucks, that means replacing the entire pedal assembly. I had similar issues on my '01 X and the replacement fixed the problem for $81. That was in 2003, though, and I don't know what the current price is.
If you don't have a scan tool you can check tps voltage with a volt meter.
Ground to battery
Hot to middle wire on tps plug.
Key on engine off. Slowly push the pedal and watch the voltage for dead spots
Idle should be around 1.5v and WOT no more than 4.5v
