I kinda like hearing the Turbo spool up, so not to much of a problem there for overall noise. Have a 3/12 DP, just got it freed up by losing the cat/converter and was wondering if the sound would go up inside and out, it actually went down, don't know if it's a function that the motor runs better, smoother, almost purrs until you step it up! I would be happy if I could cut down the overall noise 50 percent, Glenn has done his right, I dont have the skill or back that would allow me to do the job as well, maybe I'll just do what I can get at and go from there... one thing ALWAYS leads to another, weather u want it or not!

I drove up and spent the day hanging out at Bill's place today. Got to meet Jason. Witnessed the maiden voyage of Smokey. I thought Bill was gonna plow up the whole driveway dragging the trailer hitch. Oh, I think I figured out something Bill likes to do almost as much as work on a powerstroke............ Talk!! We did lots more talking than working. It was a great day with a couple of great guys.

Glad you got to come up! You kept Bill busy and out of my way so I could get some work done on the truck!
On a serious note, it was good meeting you!

Well I am now officially ready to put a little money into Smokey. (note I said a little) I got some coolant last night, Bill is working on looking into a deal on a couple batteries. I may have to get brakes for it if we can't figure anything out. Probably need a 6637, and Bill says I absolutely need to straight-pipe it..... But these are all things that we will shoot for getting done soon. Hopefully get a few others done before July...

1) See if the motor will fire up.... Check
2) See if the trans will roll it and shift.... Check
3) Get it road ready.....
4) Get it RRE ready.....

He has a lot of parts to pay me back for before all that! Let's see...there is..

Water pump
Vacuum pump
Idler pulley
Brake booster
Starter
Starter relay
GPs
GP relay
Intake boot
Rust free core support
Fender
Transmission lines
Skid plate
Several light bulbs
.....and let's not forget......LABOR!
I made him a deal yesterday. I figure all of that is worth one whole summer of grass cutting. What do you guys think? I don't think that's unreasonable I'm even cleaning up his old nasty wheels for him!

I think that sounds like a pretty fair arrangement to me! Those wheels don't look bad once they're cleaned up. They were kind of ahead of the curve on the whole black wheels thing weren't they?
