Before you do any more to it, get a pressure gauge for the coolant bottle and take it out and drive it. Report findings.

If you are not building too much pressure, your heads are fine and should be left alone.

Then finish your flush and buy an OEM oil cooler $290 and thw STC kit $55. Depending on how ambitious you are, it can be completed in 1 day. Intake manifold gaskets are reusable.

At this time you can decide if you want to delete the EGR cooler as well.

If you want this truck to last, maintenance is key. Make sure to only use OEM filters and you should be good to go.
I've got pressure gauge do I tee into the line from degas to radiator or to top of engine? Also after putting in the two gallons of ELC and 4 gallons of distilled I'm way overfilled. I thought the capacity was 7 gallons. That is the reason I bought the Matco Vacuum Refill so as to pull out any leftover fluid even after all had drained from block and radiator. I plan on checking pressure this afternoon. Do I need to drain some coolant out to get to min mark before I pressure test?

You can tee in to one of the lines for the degas or drill an old degas cap and put a fitting it.

The system will take 7 gallons if you pull the block drains. Make sure you use the correct mixture of 3.5 gallons ELC to 3.5 gallons distilled water.

I personally would get the level to the minimum mark for testing.

Block drains were pulled truck was level but adding the 2 of ELC and 4 Distilled Filled up to black part of degas. I cranked it up hit the high idle for a few minutes considering I have horrible neighbors I shut it down. When I get off I will get it up to operating temp check level adjust accordingly and drill hole in cap. I will report findings as soon as I know....

New old trucks are like a divorce not a honeymoon. I guess I'll get it figured out one way or the other. Thanks for all the help.

No I did replace the ECT Sensor but did not swap them to verify. Good idea. Will try that soon enough. Supposedly the dealer I got truck from changed the oil. I going to change it after can figure out what is going on. Trying to not throw good money after bad.

Hang in there Pal, I can't help you much with the problem you have because I'm still a newb myself, but there is a ton of knowledge on this site and the people that are here are willing to walk you through about anything you'll run into with these trucks/engines. just have some patience and sooner rather than later you'll get your questions answered.....usually by someone that's 'been there'

Went ahead with Coolant Filter and adjusted coolant level to min mark. Also changed oil. I have to be out for a while and going to drive truck. Hopefully later today I can do pressure test from cap and see what's what.
