Tonight I started the truck, backed it out the garage, drove down the driveway, pulled onto the street and it died. Never even really stepped on the gas, just letting it idle out before it died. It would crank fine but would not start. It acted just like when the HPOP died about 1500 miles ago. I went about 500 ft from the garage to where it died.
I towed it back into the driveway and went to dinner.
About an hour and half later I get back and it started right up.
(I forgot which setting to look at on my ScanGauge before dinner so I didn't get any data when it wouldn't start back up.)
I moved my F150 out my shop and backed the Excursion into the shop and let it run. It ran great. ICP ~ 680 at idle, 1000+ when i stepped on the gas.
FICM 48v or 48.5v the whole time. The FICM is a "new" unit from ED I replaced when the HPOP went bad. (I threw a part at it)
Let it run for several minutes. Never died again.
So any ideas on what might of happened? It is the wife's truck and I am afraid to let her go anywhere in it, i don't want it to die on her.
If I have my ScanGauge II programmed correctly. This is after it warmed up some but not "operating temp". But more warmed up than when it died on me last night.
Edit: this is engine running. If that wasn't clear. Once again it started and ran fine. Still can't trust the truck with my wife and kids by them self. If I can find something wrong then I can fix it and trust the truck again. Just need to find something.
When the engine was cold it was different. These readings was about 30-45 seconds after starting the truck, truck running.
