I currently have a f150, but seriously looking at a F250. I would assume the turn radius in say doing a u turn on a city street 4 lane. I can easily do this in my 150, how much if any less should I expect in the 2014 if any. I have not driven a 2014 yet, but have driven older ones 84- 95's. They did not turn as tight as my 05 f150. Or to be fair as my 1984 4x4 f150. Not a big deal just curious. Thanks.
My 05 crew cab long bed easily turns around in an empty parking lot, but you get used to it and make adjustments. The space and capacity are worth it to me. U-turns are only easy on 6-lane streets.
Parking is a bigger issue than making u-turns with a large turning radius and you find out that many parking lots are poorly engineered with short skinny spaces and/or narrow aisles. Again, you make adjustments - for instance, I start aiming for just the right space as soon as I enter the lot or from the street, and it is not particularly important to park real close (hey, I need the exercise anyway).
Take a test drive and make a u-turn or two, then park in a Walmart or Samsclub lot.

I had a 13 F150 156 in WB and now a 14 F250 172in WB. No doubt the F150 turned with a tighter turn radius but I have to say this 14 SD turns way better than my 02 SD 172 WB. There are yubies I couldn't do in my 02 that I now can do with this 14. They definetly improved the turn radius on this model truck..But as far as cruising inner city streets, the F150 is gonna be a more nimble truck.. If you get the 156 WB SD I am sure it turns even easier than mine..
You get used to it.... I have both a F150 Reg Cab Short Bed and a F250 CC LB with accessories that make it even longer. Sure it is a little pain in the butt when I want to take it downtown but you can do it.
You will find it more challenging than driving an F-150. Many drivers will back into parking spaces because it is easier to maneuver in tight spaces when going forward. Learning to do a K turn is your friend.
Thanks for the info. I knew I would give up a bit, but was not to concerned. I just hoped with the newer trucks it had tightened up a bit, and it seems it has. Good news. I am no stranger to driving large trucks. I guess that is one reason I want a 250 to replace my 150. I just need a little more convincing. I like my 150, but with new motors coming, I am concerned a little. I like the 6.2. Diesel is not what I need. A gasser will serve me fine.I don't want to get off topic so I will end and continue to do my research.
We've owned every model of the super duty from 2001 to the 2012, in both long bed extended cab and long bed crew cab. Every truck turns better than the one before it.
Second the comment on backing in. This truck could use a front bumper camera and side mirror side cameras but it does really nicely without all the extras. The biggest issue for my own driving is usually overhead clearance. My current truck is 6'9-1/2" and just barely makes it under a 6'10" ceiling. I have an oversized Protech tool box, about 200 pounds of stuff in the box, and a Linex job in the back and it lowered the truck about an inch before adding passengers.
You are comparing apples to gorillas if you are comparing 02's, 05's etc to 2014 ANYTHING especially if you don't take into account the cab configuration and wheelbase !
specs for Turning circle, curb-to-curb anywhere from 46.1 to 58.5 ft depending on cab & wb...
Anything after the swap from front leafs to coils will turn infinitely better ---
go to kbb and look up the turning radius for the trucks you are interested
My 13 CCSB @ 156" wheelbase will turn from a turning lane and make a u turn with room to spare onto two lanes coming the other way.... (do it regularly to take our dog to the vet)

I believe I said that we had long bed extended cabs and long bed crew cabs in each model. So we in fact were comparing apples to apples when we commented on turning radius improvements in the superduties.
