Vacuum Modulator

I was going to adjust shift points through my vacuum modulator today. When I climbed under the truck and pulled the rubber hose that connects the hard vacuum line to the modulator, transmission oil started pouring out. I'm guessing here, but I don't think it should do that. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is suppose to happen?

Thanks

The diaphragm in the modulator separates fluid from vacuum, so I would assume you have a hole in the diaphragm and the modulator should be replaced.

That's exactly what I suspected. Thank you Gavin.

That may explain a lot of why it's shifting oddly. I hope a new modulator solves all of that for you.
