battery tray bolts
I'm currently working on my brothers truck, 1977 f-150 4x4, 460, zf 5 speed. His steering was junk so i order a lower shaft and top and bottom bearings form jbg. The other main thing he wanted addressed was the passenger inner fender was sagging from the weight of the battery.
Well come to find out there was no battery tray in the truck, i guess the original one had rusted out and the PO i guess just took it out, sat the battery on the inner fender and bungeed it in.....
I added a battery tray to my order from jbg and was wondering if anybody knew what bolts i will need to bolt up the new tray. would really like to buy them before the tray gets here so i can bolt it right in immediately.

Bolts are 5/16-18. Same as those that hold the fenders on. You will need some u-nuts to match for the radiator support and inner fender if they are not already there. I think I used 6 in all. One or two go through bottom of tray into inner fender. Should be a couple of nuts welded to inner fender to bolt to.

If you want to get really picky, AMK Products has the exact bolt but they're expensive, $1.25 each p/n B-13229.
They also have the captive nuts for the splash pan if you need those.
Restoration hardware - AMK Products Inc !

Mike, believe it or not, I used to work for the company that made those bolts for 8 years. It was called Ferndale Fasteners, hence the double F. This was back in the seventies and early eighties. I ran cold headers back then. There is a good chance I made some of those bolts. I even found some on my 76 highboy. Textron bought out the company in the late nineties.
