ring and pinion spline count

Hey guys! Last night I was getting ready to order this lovely kit off summit racing
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cmb-14-0063/overview/ and I realized that the pinion spline count was 28 but the axle spline is the correct 31 like my pickup is the pinion spline supposed to be 28? I'm a little confused about this.

Any help will be appreciated

It says "axle spline count 31". So that should be correct for your truck. Most of these trucks I have seen have the 31 spline axles.

Ok cool so should I not be worried about the ring and pinion spline count? Thanks for the reply too!

I never did worry about that part, but that doesn't mean they didn't make different pinion styles also. You had better double check what the story is on that.
