pinion spline count?????

pinion spline count?????
i have a 1995 ford f150 2 wheel drive with an 8.8'' rear end. i recently ordered some gears for it and i need an install kit, the ones im seeing are for a pinion with a 30 spline. does anyone know what the PINION spline count is on my truck? thanks in advance for any help.

I have found 2 pinion spline counts for the 8.8.
-28 spline
-30 spline
However, I could not find any other information (years, models, ect) other than to check the count before ordering.
I know this doesn't help much, but I thought I'd try.

The 8.8 axle should come with a 31 spline count, but some 8.8 axles came with 28 spline.
Pull your axle out and count it. That's what me and my dad had to do!
By the way, I've been told the most popular spline count is 31, and that's what mine is. Yours is probably 31 spline, but you had better check first.
