so a new headlight switch was ordered for the old 92, and was wondering how a guy replaces it, i searched and there are a ton of pages on removing the know but they dont go any farther was wondering if you could replace it by removing the trim piece for the switch and duel tank switch or if you had to remove parts of the dash to get at it, thanks all
It's easy, just take off the trim around the gauges (it's all one piece) and after that you'll see the 2 screws holding the switch in. 5 minute job.
To get that trim off, carefully pry off the (black/silver/whatever color yours are) strips that run along the front of it. Take out the screws behind them. Tilt the wheel all the way down (if you don't have tilt you might have to loosen the column bolts) and pull the entire trim piece forward. Reach behind it and unplug the fuel switch (and 4x4 switch if you have electric shift) and carefully pull the trim out.
