Shackle to frame torque spec

Guys,

Looking for the torque spec for the leaf spring shackle to frame bolt. Just received my new Borla cat-back system and one of the pipe hangers in placed at the shackle bolt. The instructions state to "re torque to factory specs".

I've done some googling but have got mixed numbers, ranging from 82-165lbft

Trying to avoid purchasing a workshop manual for the time being, although I'm sure that I will in the future.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what the spec is, but...give it a good tug with a box end wrench. It will be good. Maybe check it after a week or so.

Another option if you don't want to mess with it is double nut it with the hanger on the outside of the factory nut. Maybe?!?!?

I'm having a tough time with this one Robb.

I believe the rear suspension is either identical or very similar to the '04-'08 trucks but I can't be sure. The torque spec for that bolt on those trucks is 98 ft-lbs.

Measure the diameter of the threaded part of bolt and torque based on bolt size and material.

The best bolted joint guides are not found on the web. Tell us the bolt size and we can compare answers.
