weird transmisson problem
f250 heavy duty 5.8l 96 model
was doing great parked it for a few minutes then proceeded to back it up to hook up to trailer still was doing fine then put in drive and within a min or two started idling rough then when i push on the accelerator moved fine for like second or two then almost like nothing but slippage and would only travel in 1st no shifting not even manual but moves in reverse like nothing is wrong changed the neutral module still the same

Mine did the same thing, wasn't shifting out of first. I could get up to speed in manual 2nd, but when put in drive it did nothing. The OD off light would flash. Ended up being a weak signal from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). Replaced the sensor and fixed some wiring and it shifts fine now.
