1988 ford 4X4 f150
Hi all: Basically newbi here. I am dismantling this truck. I guess for the same reason everyone else has junked this type: rust. However the motor, trans, (auto), and rear end are in very good shape as this truck was owned by a gas mechanic and the truck has about 218,000 kms. So, what sort of rear end is this truck (five stud rims)? How to check the ratio? Could I put disks on the rear if I wanted to fit it to my Model A. If it is not a locker, can I change it to be so? I currently have a 1974 ford Fairlane rear end in the A and with the power I now have, want 4 wheel disk. Also anyone on Vancouver Island looking for good running gear and 302 fi?

WELCOME TO THE FORUM.
Your truck has a 8.8 rear end. Being 4x4 it probly has 3.55 or 3.73. Chock up the front tires mark a visible line on the rear yoke and the rear end housing and mark a line on your tire drive side tire and the bed. Then lift the entire rear end and put Jack stands under it and place the truck in neutral. Spin the drive side tire by hand and have someone watch the line on the rear end. If you have3.55s your drive shaft will spin three and a half times per one full rotation of the drive tire.
Or just check the door tag.
You can get a locker for it or just do a Lincoln locker(weld the spider gears)
As far as putting it in your model a id recommend a mustang or rear or a ford explorer rear. I hope this helps
