Other guy at work with a super duty has paddle mirrors too. Noticed it today when I went out to check on the axle code and saw his parked next to mine.

One thing to try before you buy. Clean the space around the VSS sensor and then
pull it out and wipe the end off and put it back and retry. Also check the plug
for any green death. (Corrosion) on the contacts. That can also screw it up. Clean
with contact spray cleaner and use some dielectric grease to help protect it from
water and SALT.

Also if you do find a lot of junk on the sensor end you may want to change the
fluid in the differentials to be safe.

I did end up buying the truck today. It's a little bit of a basket case, as the speedo worked when I started the test drive and didn't by the time I got back. After the speedo quit, the OD Off light started blinking.

The owner said it started doing that after he changed the transfer case about 8000 miles ago. I'm now kind of wondering how he managed to break the axle and transfer case on this thing.

Besides that, just a bunch of little things:
Missing clip around air box
Check engine light
Truck almost seems like it will stall when put into gear but drives fine
Bad exhaust leak on pass side due to broken studs

Gonna pull codes and do some tinkering tomorrow after work. expecting bad/dirty sensors or vacuum leak at play here, maybe PCV.

I have the same problem I my door tag there’s no axle info what did you find on your axle?

With stock sized tires does it rev over or under 2K at 60 MPH? The standard EX ratio was 3.73 (under 2K) and 4.30 (over 2K) was the only other option.
